Justification in the Bible
Is the act by which God declares a sinner righteous through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works.
In biblical terms, justification is God’s declaration that a person is righteous before Him. It is not earned by human effort or adherence to the law but is a gift of grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. This concept assures believers that their sins are forgiven and they are reconciled to God, providing peace and confidence in their relationship with Him.
Romans 5:1 – “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”.
James 2 [17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
[18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Galatians 2:16
A person is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith and not by works of the law”
Matthew 5
[16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
[19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Roman’s 3:28
For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law”.
There is a new law through Jesus teaching us to forgive our enemies and do good to those who deceive and use us. We must do the things, through the spirit and not just in the flesh. Man cannot save himself without Jesus, yet his faith and divine love which comes with the spirit, causes him to want to please him. Forms a fate that is truly placed in Christ transformation the heart inevitably leading to actions that love and serve others.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”
Romans 4:5
To the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness”. fate that is truly placed in Christ transforms the heart inevitably leads to actions that love and serves others James urges individuals to prove their faith by their actions not merely make empty claims Abraham was justified by faith but his faith was completed and demonstrated as a genuine when he obeyed God by offering Isaac. What says if we live by grace or faith are we able to continue to live in sin and it says that God forbid
Titus 3:7
So that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life”.
Romans 6:1-2 Directly addresses this asking shall we continue in sin that grace may abound in answering God forbid. Paul explains that because believers died to sin they cannot continue living in it as grace is an empowerment to reject sin not a license for it.
(Galatians 2:16; Romans 3:28)
Faith, not works: Justification is received through faith, not by human effort or law-keeping, emphasizing God’s grace as the source of righteousness. Grace or faith gives us hope of eternal life.
I Cor.13 Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
[5] Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
[6] Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
[7] Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
[8] Charity never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
[9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
[10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
[11] When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
[12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
[13] And now abides faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
(Romans 5:1)
Peace with God: Being justified restores the believer’s relationship with God,
confirms that salvation by grace is not a license to sin but rather an empowerment to rightly and free from sin’s dominion key passages like Romans 6 Titus 2 and First John emphasize that the grace transforms the believer’s nature enabling them to renounce ungodliness and to live a new life in Christ it is not by their flesh but it’s by the spirit.
(2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:9).
Christ’s atonement: Jesus’ death and resurrection are central to justification, as He bore the penalty for sin, allowing believers to be declared righteous
Yet the Bible says in
John 16:13 When the spirit of truth has come, he will guide you into all truth. For he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will show you things to come. These are speaking to his disciples, about coming of the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost also called the Comforter, or the spirit of truth. Showing that the spirit comes in us and we become Transformed. After his departure it reached, to it refers to the Holy Spirit. Role in revealing divine truth, and clarifying teachings of Jesus. The spirit acts as a guide into a full truth, or all the truth, rather than speaking independently. When the spirit of truth comes he will guide you. Not grace or faith or hope or even charity. Into all truth he will not speak of his own he will speak through the Creator.
Security of salvation: Justification assures believers of their standing before God, independent of human merit, and guarantees hope of eternal life. The promise indicates that those who remain faithful to Christ, through overcoming their trials and tribulations shall share in his royal authority. Romans 8 it talks about the carnal mind being enmity against God. Not subject to the law of God and neither indeed can be it talks about the flesh, lusts against the spirit. The spirit lusting against the flesh. and these are contrary one to another. If you walk in the flesh, you cannot please God. So through us living up to God’s laws, not to 10 commandments. But the laws of the New Testament, through his Spirit. We can overcome this world world why we are here unto a perfect man. We will stand in the fullness of the stature of Jesus Christ. We will be no more children tossed to and fro, by the slight and cunning craftiness. Where men lie in wait to deceive us. There is no way that I believe that we can do it without Jesus, dying on the cross, for our sins and washing our sins away. I believe that Jesus tore the veil in twain and gave us an opportunity for us to see what manner of man or woman we are. That we can look into the perfect law of liberty.
