HIS LAST WORDS, “I TOLD YOU SO!”
When I was 19 years old I met a young girl named Marsha she was 16 years old. She was walking down the street and I was coming from work. I picked her up and she wanted me to get high and I said ok. We went to her friends house and we bought some cocaine. I saw her shoot it up and how she reacted. I was scared but for the first time I shot cocaine.
After that we began to hang out and I was with her for three years shooting cocaine. Later on I found out she was a prostituting herself. I didn’t like it but it was the only way we could get money and buy drugs.
I had a dodge van that we stayed in I fixed it up with a mattress and so we stayed in Santa Cruz for about 6 months. I would stay in a motel room or wait by the ocean and she would go get money and another motel and then we would have sex drugs and rock and roll.
During this time my dad met her and told me to get away from her or I would spend the rest of my life in prison. I didn’t listen to him. So we kept on doing nothing but bad stuff. Robbing stealing and shooting dope and I was pimping her because I took the money when she came Imagine this I met her and started shooting dope. pimping her on the street, running from the law and now I was 2,000 miles away and lost my dad respect and he was done talking to me. (The last words he said was I told you so.)
I was all alone with no meal ticket, running from the law and broke and hungry. I was standing outside freezing with no coat by a bakery and a Christian lady named Jenny came out of the bakery and asked me don’t you have a coat and I said no and she took me to get a coat and some food. Then she took me home to her house and I got straight and started going to church with her family and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I got a job later after staying with her and temptation was all around me. I then had my mom help me get an apartment. How I did this without identification is beyond me. I had a place a job across the street and was going to church and doing good. Marsha’s was living with this guy. I found out when I ran into her. I told her where I lived and I kept doing good. I was hanging out with Jenny cake decorating at night working during the day and had my own place. Then one night it was raining and at 3am I got a knock on the door and it was her Marsha and she had a rock of cocaine the size of a golf ball. She asked me if I wanted to do some cocaine. I was ok like a dummy and we started hitting and breaking down that golf ball of cocaine. Like always we got in a fight she got paranoid like always yelling and threw a mirror at me. The own-ers of the apartment told me to leave. I only had a mattress to sleep on and my clothes. We were kicked out. I had a job, a place to live, a good friend in Jenny and now I was broke homeless and ended up sleeping in the park.
Marsha left and she said she would meet me in the park the next day. I was with these guys and they gave me some drugs and I sold them and bought some alcohol and was getting messed up. Marsha shows up with this guy and she said she was going with him to get some money. I told him to have her back in an hour and they left. the guys at the park were giving me a bad time about her being a prostitute and she wasn’t my girl friend. The more I got drunk the madder I got. So three hours later she comes back and I pushed the guy down and he got up and came at me and I beat him until he could not move. I got in a truck with this guy and Marsha and we split before the police came. I could not move my hands from hitting on this man I did not even know. The guy took us out in the woods and he was staying in a small trailer in the middle of nowhere. I sobered up and realized what had happened and decided to leave her there and go back to California. she was screaming and yelling at me I love you. All I could hear was my dad telling me I told you so. You’re going to spend your life in prison if you don’t get rid of her.
My friend Jenny gave me the money to catch a bus. Instead of going I decided to go with these guys they said they would love to go to California. So I cashed the ticket in and they ripped me off of the money and they dropped me off and said by as they went skiing without me.
Here I am again in the middle of nowhere, no money and decided to go back home.
Mind you something I did not know is Marsha had also gotten cocaine fronted from these thugs I knew back in California. They were coming to my dad’s threatening him with shot guns because of this Marsha and here evil deeds. I began to hitchhike and this Christian man picked me up and gave me a ride and got me something to eat. Then he dropped me off and gave me ten dollars. I started hitch hiking and I got picked up by two lesbians and we went through the desert and the stars were falling. I re-member Jenny telling me about in the last days stars would fall from heaven.
I told these two girls we missed the rapture now we are going to burn in hell. I was making them very uncomfortable. We stopped at a truck stop in Texas in the middle of desert. I went to the bathroom and met this truck driver. I told him part of my story. He said he could give me a ride all the way to Los Angeles and said ok The two girls left and I went back to find the trucker and he was gone.
Here I am in the middle of the desert it was 120 degrees outside. I had just the clothes on my back and a pair of sandals. No mon-ey, no food, no Marsha. I hear my dad say now you are going to spend the rest of my life in prison and I told you so. I started to hitchhike and did not get a ride for 20 hours had no food no water and 120 degrees out.
I came to a trailer park and jumped in there pool and drank pool water did not care. I went into the store office or little store and they threw me out. I then called my sister Linda and she paid for a ticket and sent me $10 dollars. It was a four day trip and I had ten dollars to eat. I asked her how I was going to survive on ten dollars she said eat apples if you have to. Here is the bad thing also; I had to go back the way that I just came from.
I made up my mind that I was going to walk and not hitchhike all that way. So I am walking on the side of the freeway in 120 degree weather no sleep no food and no money the ten dollars was at the bus station with the ticket my sister paid for. (I hear my dad say I told you so.)
The very first car pulled over and I told him where I was going and he said ok get in. I told him my story and ask him if he was a Christian and he said yes. He took me to the bus station and prayed for me and dropped me off.
I had two hours before the bus left so I went across the street and laid on the lawn and fell asleep. Then the sprinklers come on and get me soaked and it felt good. I was wet and smelt real bad and this guy across the street called me over to him. I walked across the street and got in his car. So i told him about my story and he listened. Then he asked me if he could make me feel better and I said how and he asked me to have sex with him. I got out of the car. I heard my dad once again say (I told you so.)
Its about 15 minutes from the time the bus comes. I am in the bus station next to three Nuns and these two guys start fighting and there was blood everywhere and I got up to protect the sisters or Nuns. I pushed them away and the bus station attendant told me to get out of his station. Then one of the Nuns said he was helping us. so the Attendant let me stay and catch the bus. For four days I did not sleep had no money except for the ten dollars my sister sent me.
I talked and talked to anyone on the bus would listen. Finally I got to San Jose and my other sister picked me up at the station and I could not shut up rambling on. She ends up taking me to church and this Lady Leslie said she had a dream that I was coming back to church and she was the first person I had seen. I remember that to this day. I had gone to my sister’s church for a couple months and left church and went on this three years detour. Sex drugs and rock and roll! I was doing well for about a month and going to church every service with my sister.
A brother in the Lord asked me if I want to go to Santa Cruz of all places. I use to go to Santa Cruz way before I met Marsha with my fellow baseball players to meet girls and party. So Allen my brother in the Lord went to Santa Cruz and it brought back all the times I was there with Marsha and partying there in high school.
I had not been to Redwood City where I was born where my dad lived yet or seen my dad. I asked Allen to drop me off at my friends house. He told me it wasn’t a good idea. He did it anyway. The first thing Fred said was do you want some mushrooms and I said yes. There was a pile of two pounds of these huge mushrooms.
My sister had an agreement I could stay at her house if I did not get do drugs. Did not stay gone all night and went to church. Well I spent all night high on mushrooms and didn’t want my sister to know. When I went home she was not there and my clothes and stuff were on the porch. Well I had to go and stay with my mom and dad at their house.
Now let me remind you about the thugs coming to my house wanting their money. I was wanted by the law and still had the stolen stuff in my dad’s house in the attic. I forgot to tell you about the 13 unpaid tickets I never went to court on. I get home and my dad said I told you so and that you would spend the rest of your life in prison. I am worried about going to jail and getting beat to death or killed by these thugs.
My dad told me there was two of his rental that needed roofs and I could do them he would pay me just the money I owed everyone. So I did them and met the thugs and paid them and told them I knew nothing about Marsha getting the dope fronted. I never got in trouble for the checks or ripping the guy off. I never went inside and they didn’t have the stuff. So they had no evidence against me. I got rid of the stuff that we had at my dad’s house. I went to court on the 12 tickets and outstanding warrants and the judge said plead guilty and he would suspend sentence on all of them. So I did and I was free, except for one ticket in Patterson California I was like God will take care of this and it was almost 400 dollars. My dad paid the ticket and he said he needed work done on another rental. I helped him and it was over no jail time. I could tell you many stories further about my journey with Marsha but won’t the greatest thing was God fixed my life with my dad back from hooking. So for three years I didn’t work, I just sat in the room like I said or by the ocean and she would come back from making money with a room and it was all about sex and drugs and rock and roll.
One night she pulled a trick and ripped him off and that night he cut my front brake lines and I had only back brakes. The brakes were like that for a couple months driving from Santa Cruz to Redwood City which was 45 away from each other to get co-caine. One day I wrecked it and had it towed to my dad’s house. He was mad and told me again to get away from her. I didn’t lis-ten.
My dad asked his friend Art to fix it for me and he said yes. So my dad had it towed to Art’s house. Marsha took off while we were fixing the van to go make some money. While we were still fixing it she came back and asked to use Art’s bathroom he said ok. She went in his house and stole his check book without my knowledge. Art fixed my van so I could drive it. We left and she already had a motel for us in Redwood City and we stayed in it. She took off again to get money for us to do dope and get money for food. She kept coming back with a gram of coke and I asked her where she was getting it from and she told me this guy was fronting the dope to her. I was not happy about that and thinking she liked him. She told me he had a thousand dollars at his house and an ounce of coke and he would be gone during the day working.
My friend and I and Marsha went to the man’s house and they broke in and i watched out for people coming. There was no money and no cocaine. They took his stereo and bank book and as much as they could steal. We went to my dad’s while he wasn’t home and hid all the stolen stuff at his house. Then we left and went back to Santa Cruz and did what we did me waiting for her and her making money hooking on the street.
We went to get dope in Redwood City and went by my dad’s. He told me about Marsha stealing the checks from my dad’s friend Art and that she gave them to the man we had stolen from. My friend went with a couple of his friends to my dad’s friend Art’s house threatening Art. Art said wait a minute and went and got his shot gun and told them to get off his property or he would shoot them.
They did what he said now mind you I didn’t have a clue about her stealing the check until my dad confronted me. He told me to call to talk to Art so he called him and I begged Art not to press charges and he told me it was too late he already called the police. I can remember to this day my dad calling me a stupid idiot. I told you that you would spend the rest of your life in prison if you didn’t get rid of her. Before I go on with what hap-pened after that I want to share about a fight we had in Santa Cruz.
We were fighting and she scratched my back with her nails and it was deep, then she scratched my face the same way and it was a big scratch. When my dad saw that he called me an idiot again. there was a time In Santa Cruz we shot cocaine and Marsha got paranoid and was looking under the bed and yelling at me and ran down the street yelling that I was going to shoot her and the please busted us and we went to jail and my dad bailed me out and left. So Marsha was in jail and told them her name was Sue Green and I acted like my dad and the police called a phone booth and I told them was my dad and they let her go. Back to the story I had no gas in my van when Art told me about what happen and my dad was discussed with me.
Marsha and I hitched hiked with no money and she would pull tricks everywhere we went and we just kept going from one place to another sex drugs and rock and roll. We ended up in Tulsa Oklahoma 2000 miles away from home. I got in a fight with her and she left me in a motel and did not come back.
My family and it caused me to go to church and that began to change my life. Thank God and God bless.
