What Is A Shut In? How It Works

A shut in starts at 6pm on a Saturday night. The saints are asked to come on time and the they lock the church. J like God shut the door on Noah’s ark when it was time. People who never got to speak in church would get a chance to share what God has done in their lives thru testimonies!

They would share stories and people would read scriptures. They would sing songs, pray and speak in tongues all night long. No one was allowed to leave he building until 6am. Just like in Noah’s ark they weren’t allowed to leave until the hit dry land.

They were asked not to fall asleep but to stay up all night long if possible, so they could be in one mind and accord. The bible says where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. That we must be in one mind and one accord.

The spirit of God would come in like a dove, like the one that was in the Ark. It stayed in the Ark until it, was time to send it out into the outside to find land. It was the same in the church people stayed there until 6am like I said above.

The Pastor was the only one who would be able to come and go as the spirit led him. He would teach a bible lesson in the middle of the night! They would stop and pray for an hour out loud and speak in tongues.

2Cor.3
17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
[18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The shut in sets the stage for the Sunday service! People bring the spirit back with them to church and the people who could not make it to the shut in, were ask to pray at home.

When we hunger and thirst after righteousness we will be filled.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. That is the purpose of a shut in .

Then the people who were not a part of the shut in were asked to come early for church and pray an hour before service. They also were asked to pray on their way to church.

Also people would come to church during the week and anoint the seats in preparation for the shut in. Then the spirit of the Lord will feel free to move all week long. If we allow the spirit to lead the services it will be spirit led.

If people come in prepared to meet God, he will show up in a greater way. The songs will be more anointed the testimonies will be more anointed! Then the Pastor gets anointed and the people are full of the Holy Ghost. There will be people coming to the altar, rather than having to call people to the altar.

People will feel the desire to dance in the spirit. Everyone will start speaking in tongues out loud. There will be tongues and interpretation and the spirit of laughter.

Well when was the last time your church had a shut in?
Prayed for an hour before service?
Anointed seats during the week?
Had the spirit call people to the alter not the pastor?
Had tongues and interpolation?
Or had people dancing in the spirit?
Then most of all, the spirit of laughter that lasts for an hour?
